Luxury living at home
When designing the perfect living room and the specification of living room furniture, art & object we start with the space itself - the size, the direction of natural light, the traffic flow between adjoining rooms and how the homeowner and their family like to live.
Like creating any piece of art, the foundation and composition needs to be considered before the decorative elements can be applied.
This design concept was based around a lounge room in a family home located in the Central Otago region where views play a signficant role. The interplay with light was also key to create a moody yet luxury vibe with comfortable furnishings and furniture for everday living while being sophisticated.
Taking inspiration from the Autumnal hues of the landscape, these tones are incorporated into the soft furnishings, modern low back seating in a luxe brown velvet is paired with a sleek curved coffee table that reflects the light. Textural floor cushions in organic shapes sit harmoniously on the lush carpet beneath.
Playing with various heights of pieces in the space takes the eye on a visual journey making for a more interesting and inspiring room.
